Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis is a problem that affects as many as 4 million people in the United States. It may affect your self-confidence, your wardrobe, and your social life. If prescription antiperspirants do not work, there are a number of long-term options.
Botox® injections, commonly used to treat facial lines and wrinkles can also block the nerves to the sweat glands that trigger perspiration. Sweat continues to be produced elsewhere. The majority of patients treated with Botox have a significant reduction in sweating that can last as long as 6 months. An additional treatment will then be necessary.
Ultherapy® works by targeting the sweat glands using focused ultrasound. The heat created by this system will damage the sweat glands reducing the amount of sweat that is produced. The treatment is virtually painless. There is no downtime, as the procedure is non invasive. Two treatments are necessary, thirty days apart. Over 80% of patients showed improvement at one year.
Click for before & after gallery PrecisionTX™ is the latest breakthrough in dealing with excessive sweating. It is a one-time, minimally invasive laser procedure that treats the sweat glands directly. The procedure is performed by Dr. Garramone who will numb the area with an anesthetic. The procedure is performed by delivering laser energy under the skin precisely to the sweat glands. The heat generated by the laser damages or destroys the sweat glands. You may feel slight pressure during the procedure and some tenderness afterward. Most patients return to regular activities the next day. The procedure takes about one hour. In some cases, the procedure may need to be repeated but in most cases one treatment is all that is necessary.
